Privacy policy

Last updated 22 September 2026

TechResaleSG buys used business IT equipment in bulk across Singapore and resells usable units. This policy explains what personal data we collect through techresalesg.com, how we use it, and the terms on which we do so. By using this website, sending us an enquiry or dealing with us, you accept this policy.

1. About this policy

This policy applies to techresalesg.com and to enquiries and transactions that start here. It is provided for transparency and to meet our obligations under Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). Except where the law says otherwise, it does not form a contract between us and does not create obligations beyond those the law requires.

If you do not accept this policy, please do not use the enquiry form or send us personal data.

2. What we collect

  • Details you choose to send through the enquiry form: first and last name, company name, work email, phone number, your description of the equipment, and any file you attach.
  • Anything you include in emails, calls or messages to us, and the details needed to arrange a collection, such as a pickup address, an on-site contact and access instructions.
  • Transaction records: what we quoted, what we bought, quantities, serial or asset numbers, collection details and the correspondence that goes with a deal.
  • Technical information collected automatically when you browse: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed and the site you came from, through Google Analytics cookies.
  • Server logs kept by our web host for security, performance and troubleshooting.

We do not ask for NRIC numbers, bank account details or payment card details through this website. Please do not send them to us through the form. If you send us information we have not asked for, you do so at your own risk, and we may delete it.

3. How we use it

We use the information you give us for our legitimate business purposes, including to:

  • assess your equipment, prepare a quote and negotiate a purchase;
  • arrange collection, payment and handover, and to resell the equipment we buy;
  • contact you about your enquiry, and about the same or similar equipment in future;
  • keep the records our accounts, tax filings and audits require;
  • build and refine our internal pricing and valuation data;
  • protect our business, including checking for spam, fraud or misuse, resolving disputes and enforcing our rights;
  • comply with the law and respond to lawful requests from authorities;
  • understand how the website is used so we can improve it.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties for their own marketing.

5. Information about other people

Asset lists, spreadsheets and photos often contain other people’s details, such as staff names against device serial numbers. If you send us personal data about anyone else, you confirm that you are authorised to do so and that the necessary consents are in place. You remain responsible for that disclosure, and for any claim that arises from it.

6. Data on equipment you sell to us

Used computers, servers, drives and phones usually still hold company and personal data. Removing that data before handover is your responsibility. Please also keep your own backup of anything you need, because once equipment leaves your premises we cannot recover it for you.

Where we resell a unit, its storage is wiped and the operating system reinstalled before the unit is offered for sale. That step is part of preparing stock for resale. It is not a data destruction or certification service, and to the fullest extent permitted by law we accept no liability for data left on equipment you hand over to us, or for any consequence of that data.

If you need storage handled in a particular way, tell us in writing before collection so it can be agreed separately.

7. Who we share it with

We share only what is needed, with:

  • Google, for website analytics and for the email account that receives your enquiry;
  • Automattic (Akismet), which checks form submissions for spam;
  • our web hosting provider, which stores the site and its logs;
  • our collection and transport partners, when a pickup is arranged. They receive the address, contact person and collection details only;
  • our professional advisers, such as accountants or lawyers, where they need it;
  • authorities, courts or other parties, where the law requires it or where we need to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

If our business, or part of it, is reorganised, sold or transferred, records including enquiry and transaction data may be transferred with it.

These organisations hold data under their own terms and policies. We choose service providers we consider reasonable for the purpose, and beyond that we are not responsible for how they run their own systems.

8. How long we keep it

We keep enquiries and transaction records for as long as we consider necessary for the purposes above, including our accounting, tax, audit, warranty and dispute-resolution needs, and for as long as the law requires. You may ask us to delete an enquiry, and we will delete what we are not required or entitled to keep.

9. Cookies and analytics

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This site uses cookies set by WordPress for basic functions, and Google Analytics cookies that count visits and show how pages are used. We do not use cookies for advertising.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. By continuing to use the site with cookies enabled, you consent to their use. Blocking them does not stop you using the site; analytics simply will not count your visit.

10. Security

The site runs over an encrypted HTTPS connection, we keep WordPress and its plugins updated, and access to enquiry emails is limited to the people who handle quotes and collections.

No method of storing or sending information over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee it. You send information to us at your own risk, and to the fullest extent permitted by law we are not liable for loss or damage arising from unauthorised access, interception or disclosure that occurs outside our reasonable control.

11. Access, correction and other requests

Under the PDPA you may ask us to tell you what personal data we hold about you and how we have used it, to correct anything inaccurate, to withdraw your consent, or to delete data we no longer need.

Please email your request, with “Privacy” in the subject line, and enough detail for us to find the records. We may ask you to verify your identity first, and where the law allows we may charge a reasonable fee for an access request or decline a request, for example where it concerns another person’s data, is vexatious, or relates to records we must keep. We respond as soon as reasonably practicable.

12. Other websites

Our pages link to other websites and services that we do not control. This policy covers only techresalesg.com, and we accept no responsibility for the content, security or privacy practices of any other site.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy at any time. Changes take effect when the updated version is posted here, with a new date at the top. Please check back from time to time, because continuing to use the site or to deal with us means you accept the current version.

14. Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of Singapore, and any dispute relating to it is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts. Nothing here limits rights you have under the PDPA or other law that cannot be excluded.
